Decor that will look perfect in your lounge

If there is one room in the house that should be beautifully decorated, it’s the living room. Our lounges are used for more than just relaxing in; they are spaces for entertaining and sometimes used as dining rooms, play rooms, office or even  spare rooms like ours. Yes our new sofa bed came and I love it! So there’s no wonder, a lot of effort goes into making your living rooms look amazing. I know it’s the one room I’m constantly tweaking.

As we use our living rooms so much, it’s easy to take them for granted. Often, our lounges are rooms that are centred around practicality, rather than style and comfort. This is especially true when it comes to family homes. However, this shouldn’t be the case. No matter what your living room is used for – family time or entertaining, you still deserve a beautiful space.

So how do we create an  incredible luxury living room, while still keeping it practical? Who knows..but here are some items that might help.

Storage can be an issue. If you have young children, consider getting a shelf which can go up high, keeping little bits away from your kids. Wall shelves can let you have a grown up space thats out of reach of childre. I love these shelves from Trouva.

iJTILDBRRWdjuqpfHutAKeep these shelves up high to house your fragile pieces, or just plants you don’t want your children or pets eating! These cost £98.00 for the set of three.

If your not a fan of plants, or you tend to kill them, get some funky vases to put flowers in instead foryour lounge.

All these vases are from Trouva too! P.S this is like my new favourite shop.

I love a cactus! They are so easy to keep and take care of, but if you still worry you might kill one, settle for this awesome cactus vase! Put a beautiful single flower in it, because let’s be honest it’s all about minimalistic…sometimes… This small ceramic cactus vase costs £21.50.hgo28zhqajzunq7y7eqg

Keeping with a monochrome theme? These enamel pots can be used as plants pots, or vases! I love the untidy block pattern of these beauts! Get the small one for £4.95.dsxe78pvh3tghjyrvdbp

I love love love this! It’s so…well gold! I also love how it looks like a meted tin can… no? Anyway this vase costs £24.95 and you can get it here.

To give your lounge a nice glow, instead having bright overhead lighting, install a dimmer switch. Or, if you are unable to add a dimmer, swap to lower wattage light bulbs. Or go for some ambience with a lamp! I love these ones below!
