I’m back….and I’ll be 30 weeks tomorrow…

Ok so I’ve had a couple of weeks off from the blog purely because I was just exhausted really. I went into my 3rd trimester with a revenge of morning sickness similar to my 1st trimester blues. It really took it out of me, and with that I went to a hen do and did a mini break in Center Parcs. Both lovely, but both exhausting..I know what your thinking…they are meant to be relaxing…and they were, I just dealt with nausea and tummy tightness most of the time which led to walking being a massive pain.

On a plus though, I haven’t been sick for a day now so here’s hoping it settled down again. Here are a few photo’s from the Hen do. We did a Charleston dance class and had Afternoon tea which was sooo good. I only did the dance class in small intervals…you can see how warm I looked in the picture.. had to take it slow!

Plus here’s my pancake I had at Center Parcs…I only managed like half, luckily Richard was able to eat all his and the rest of mine..death by chocolate is an understatement.

Also…I’m in my 3rd trimester…hello…where did the time go??…slightly panicking now…just a little. I’ve been away from our little house for a couple of weeks so now I’m back I’m on full cleaning and DIY mode again..I haven’t even begun to think about things I need to buy yet…

I also have my first NCT class tomorrow, which also happens to be Richard’s birthday so I hope he’s looking forward to a whole day of talking about vagina’s and labour…I’ve heard mixed reviews on NCT classes, but primarily I have heard it’s where you go to buy mummy friends..and being as I don’t really know many people here, I am all for buying friends! So wish me luck.

I thought I’d mention briefly about how the blog is going to change.Ideally I don’t want this to be a mummy blog, as that’s not what I had ever planned, this has just been a creative outlet of ramblings, projects and inspiring things. But let’s be honest babies change things in a big way so I will be posting a few things, but I guess thats just how the blog develops..But I promise not to overload you with baby orientated topics!! unless you request it!  To completely contradict all this..here are a couple of pics of my twin nieces and nephew..such cuties!

Here’s to week 30 tomorrow… eeeek!

FLOWERS IN THE WATER, ITALY SHOOT

So i did a very quick little shoot while we were in Italy, which briefly featured Abby, and the flowers that Richard had given me. It was sunny, but quite cold that day, hence the short shoot. But I like how the pictures came out a lot, I love using swimming pools, the reflections and shades of vibrant blue just look good as a backdrop.

Abby looking lovely with flowers in her hair, which is a nightmare. Me and Max were in the pool with her holding her up and placing flowers, then we had to get out of the way without disrupting her or the flowers for Richard to take the picture.. fun fun

CAKES IN ITALY

So the meats, cheese and fresh produce were amazing in Italy, but being me I particularly liked the cakes. Because there were so many of us a couple of times we ended up buying big cakes, so there was enough for everyone, the beauty was we never knew what we were getting and luckily no one had an allergies.

So lets begin.

Cake,-Italy

So this cake, was a chocolate ice cream cake, sooo good, with the fancy chocolate covered top. Totally judged this cake by it’s appearance, and it totally paid off as this was amazing.

Next was this cake, look how weird the picture looks…oh well. We weren’t quite sure what this was, but it was crazy good, very nutty. No idea what it says on top though..

Next we have the little pastries from the patisserie down the road. I was sold by the packaging, so well packaged no?

And inside was just as good. All these beauts came to €5 which is crazy cheap I literally felt like I was robbing her because they were so good! Sooo soo good. So this became the favorite with all of us, so many cakes were brought. We ended the trip going there one last time picking up some nibbles which were different covered marzipan. we figured these would have the best luck staying intact.

So these were cute, but I’m not much of a marzipan person so Richard has been enjoying them.

So there’s the cake part, last installment of tomorrow is the rest of our pictures, don’t worry i’ll filter them so it wont be 8 pages long!!

ciao.

FLORAL LOVE ITALIAN STYLE

Just a quick note to say thank you to all of your kind words on mine and Richards Engagement, completely over the moon!

Now onto today’s post we all know I have a small obsession with flowers, so why would it stop just because I was is Italy. I love how nearly every house had a display of flowers surrounding their windows and garden, as if there a giant flower show and the whole of Italy are competing. Here are some of my favorite pictures I took of floral displays.

How lovely is this, this is like my absolute dream. A house covered inside and out in plants and flowers.

Some beautiful flowers Richard brought for me the day before he proposed, guess he was trying to butter me up! These are from the local florist and old lady who watched as Richard gave them to me and gave me a lovely big smile and a wave.

I thought this little house was si pretty, completely covered, then I saw this little pot just in the window. Interesting no??

I saw these pink flowers everywhere in different shades, maybe its the popular flower of the moment. They were so vibrant and pretty though.

Flowers,Italy

Everywhere I looked in Italy, balconies were just covered in flowers and plants, I love this one i particular because of the picture shrine beside it, its just so beautiful, I couldn’t not take a picture of it.

So there’s my snippet of floral Italy style for you, I tried so hard to get some pictures of the countless fields of sunflowers we drove past, but it was always at such a speed and no where to stop alas, I failed. But do enjoy these ones! Tomorrow Italian cakes and believe me there are quite a few!

SIENA, ITALY

So we are back in the land of wifi, bar not being able to blog as much as I would have liked too, It was strangely refreshing, not being able to google anything, check emails and tweets constantly. Its amazing how much time I spend on the internet, but being without it for two weeks, well, it was nice. Saying that I am glad to have it back.

So the next few posts will be me finishing up our Italian adventures.

Bambinos,-Italy

Abby carrying Amelia. It was lovely, for the twins to run around the square, plus we all got ice cream and just chilled for a bit.

Eliza-and-Richard,-Siena-italy

While Ben and Tash were off doing important mum an dad things. ( Buying more sunscreen for the girls), Richard was watching Eliza (above) and Abby was watching Amelia, and I was enjoying the atmosphere that is Italy while taking a photo every now and then.

Mum,-and-dad,-`Love.

My mum and dad looking lovely and still very much in love, if not slightly burnt..

Siena-Sqaure

The main towers was being renovated, I think July is the month for all work to be done on big landmarks…either that or I have the worst luck. Anyway it was still beautiful to look at, Just ignore the group of Italians who are harnessed to the structure who look like they are about to burst into singing the YMCA.

A cheeky picture, because they both look adorable, this definitely isn’t making me broody…

ITALY HOLIDAY, THE TO-DO LIST

Ok so we are officially off tomorrow morning for two weeks in Italy. Words can’t describe how excited I am. But before all the excitement I have a list the length of my arm of things I need to do before we go. So I thought I’d share with you my to-do list of essentials before going away.

To-do-list-holiday

So I hate the thought of coming home after a lovely holiday to a messy house. Or a messy kitchen in particular, just imagine the mould and flies right? So I always scrub my kitchen down and clean out the fridge. It’s a lot nicer coming home to a clean house and a made bed..believe one time I missed something and it was horrific. Banana plus flies hidden behind a vase, is not pretty. So I learnt my lesson thats for sure.

I have been lucky to travel quite a bit, so I like to think I have packing down quite well, or at least I should right? Well not exactly. I still constantly over pack things that I don’t end up wearing. So I have tried really hard to maximise my packing ability paired with my experience. Plus as we are flying with Ryanair.. we only paid for 1 piece of luggage, I know its going to be a stretch. We did manage to leave some items with my family who get free luggage allowance. Mum and dad are plane snobs so they are going with British Airways.  Anyway, so here is our packing all sorted out neatly…

packing-for-holiday

Now be honest is this too much? Have I already over packed? I think it’s difficult to know what your going to wear in advance, especially if you haven’t pre planned where your going right?

Anyway, so I thought I’d tell you quickly about my watering system, though I’m not using it this time because I have a friend looking after the house, but what I have done in the past is filled up big bottles with water and pierced 2 small holes either end so the plant can get the water it needs. But with this, depending on how long you go away you need someone to refill it.. maybe a sprinkler on a timer would be more beneficial…hm.. Sort of feel like this post has turn into the mad ramblings of a 50+gardener. But hey I like gardening so nevermind..

But we off! We will hopefully be able to post a few things when we are away, plus I have a few planned posts for you to enjoy incase i can’t. If you have any recommendations of places we should check out do say. We will be staying in Sienna but we have a hire car, so would love some recommendations! We will be in Rome for 1 evening too, I’d love to possibly do a cooking class? or maybe a vineyard? Anyway email us or leave us a comment!
