Every girl needs flowers

Ok so it’s coming up to the year countdown of when I am planning to have our wedding..and no I haven’t booked anything yet, but as soon as my venue is booked I will start up Wedding Wednesday’s again filled with lots of ideas and DIY’s. But until then, it never hurts to fill your day with floral love! Enjoy

I love the idea of having a bouquet filled with a varity of colour and texture. My idea for the wedding is to do a floralworkshop, then have a nice evening before the wedding filled with cocktails and fun with my bridesmaids when we all sit down together and make our own bouquets….ordering a bunch of fresh flowers in for this.

I making it my mission at sompoint to do a big floral shoot…the closest I have come to doing one was in Italy…fun times..see it here.

I am torn between pastel arrangement or vibrant one like this…descions descions..what do you guys think?

See pastels do look pretty…damn beautiful right….

I dream of having a garden full of colour with flowers and ivy hanging down… Love this so much..if this could be in my garden right now that would be great thanks.

I have done a few face the foliage portraits, which are so much fun..they are on my instagram which you can see here… but I think there’s so many creative ways to make artworks out of flowers, like this so simple yet so beautifull.

This is from an instalation by Rebecca Louise Law’s work….the rest of it is just as divine. If I could have this at my wedding thst would be amazing.

Well this totally needs to happen..it’s like a floral dream…

I hope you all enjoy your Tuesday..I’m currently led in bed with a grumpy boy after having his jabs yesterday.

Commission work for Weddings. Now on our Etsy shop

So recently I have been occupied doing a big commission piece for a wedding stylist in Swindon called Event Style. Take a look at this site as they offer loads of awesome options for wedding styling! Great if your around Wiltshire.  This project took a lot of out of me, I forgot how tiring sanding is.. but it was fun and I was pretty happy with the outcome. So much so that I am going to put the designs on Etsy so they can be made to order. SO you guys can enjoy them too! Wedding season is coming up and I really liked the plain wood board I did. Probably more so then the white boards, as it just looked so natural you know. But I also did a few other big boards for specific areas of the wedding like the church, or where you have your ceremony and even little ones for cute table decor. So take a look below and there’s a link to our shop at the end.

We do custom signs too and I will be doing an in depth price list soon too! But until then go take a look at our Etsy shop and some of our new wedding signs.

And have a lovely FRIDAY!! Yay it’s the weekend!!

Wedding Wednesday’s: Colour and Texture / 25

Ok so I have decided to limit Wedding Wednesday’s to every other week, I feel until I actually start booking some things  for the wedding, I might just keep going round in circles. But today I wanted to look at colours and textures, a mood board of the tone of the day I think I want have. Enjoy!

Wedding Wednesday’s: Pretty Pins/ 23

So today I didn’t want to look at a specific topic. I have covered so much over the last couple of months, that I am finding it hard to think where to begin..I really need to find a venue. I am hoping to start visiting a few in the next coming months..there’s just so much going on right now, I have no idea what area to concentrate on..

Anyway here are some cute wedding pins to help inspire your wedding..

A cute alternative to a traditional meal, let people help themselves b having a crate of picnic food on each table. This is from The Natural Wedding Company.

An idea for kiddies as they certainly can’t have champagne! This is super cute though. Source.

A nice favour idea especially for winter weddings, or a great idea for an alternative hot chocolate bar. This is from The Nerds Wife.

Cupcakes are so popular right now, but can cost a bomb, especially if your getting enough for all your guests to have one, this is a great idea for plain frosted cupcakes, especially for kids! Source.

A nice gift to put in your guests rooms? These would have come in handy at so many weddings I have been too. This is from Before the Big Day.

Glasses can be a hassle, and there are so many ideas out there like rubber bands and tags, but this a cute way to give a gift to your guest they can remember.. This is from Wedding Dash.

So cute right?

New sign of the month: February Love Love Love

Ok so firstly I know what your thinking…what happened to January? Well what can I say sometimes my ideas don’t come to me at the start of the year…

Anyway to the sign, how it will work is that it will be up on Etsy (see it here)  for a certain amount of time, and once that time is up, thats it. I will aim to bring out a new sign design every month during the first week. Each sign will be different, and will cost £7. But remember once it expires..its gone. They are also made to order, so they won’t look the same or necessarily be the same size or texture..pallet wood is always different. But I am pretty excited about sketching out some ideas for the next couple of months.

Happy Tuesday all!

Wedding Wednesday’s : It’s time to get organised /22

Ok so when I spoke about my resolutions and aims this year, the biggest one I set myself was to become more organised. So this was an excuse to get some cute stationary, while I plan my days away and the wedding. So my filofax finally got delivered yesterday, and it is super cute. It’s from Kikki K which does the cutest stationary my only flaw against them was that because they are an Australian company I had to pay £20 to get it released from customs at Parcel force. Extortionate, but I guess it isn’t overly there fault. But the cuteness is worth it.

I am totally old school went it comes to keeping track of everything.  I had the same filofax for 5 years while I worked and while I was at uni, I decided to upgrade last year but couldn’t find one I liked, so just made do with a disposable diary for last year. Then I came across this. I suppose because so much of our time is based on our phones and laptops, tracking the ever growing technology and social medias it sometimes nice to just write down appointments and track your daily life using pen and paper. I find having a cute outlet, will make becoming more organised easier.

So I know this post isn’t overly wedding like, but as well as my daily planner I have also got a wedding planner, but it’s not your typical one.

So as some of you know, Richard proposed to me in Italy, read it here, and a couple of days after, we were walking around a little town when I came across this small little book shop where the woman working there was making books in front of you. So I have seen the cute planners going round which helps you plan your wedding but I kind of liked the idea of buying this book, in Italy where we got engaged, makes it that little bit more special no? The paper used is just beautiful and I am in love with the marble cover.

So I haven’t filled it up too much, as we all know my pace for planning, but I thought i’d show you the first page which has a polaroid of me and Richard taking the day after he proposed, taking in the same little town where we brought the book. I think regarding my way of executing this book, I am doing a more scrap book idea, something that maybe our kids in the future, would like to see, and a memory keep of my slow but hopefully fabulous wedding planning..

Perhaps as a goal for me I will show you guys a page a month, just to prove I am planning…

Enjoy your Wednesday’s all

Wedding Wednesday’s: How I picture my day /21

So I have come to the conclusion I am not a normal bride to be. I have been happily engaged for 7 months now, and I have only booked the photographer. Check her out here, she’s awesome. Unlike most women who throw themselves into wedding planner, I am just taking it slow…maybe too slow, but slow. I suppose I don’t want to impulse plan, or settle, thats not to say people who plan their weddings quickly are doing that, I just know how I am with making decisions, and sometimes it’s best for me to way up all the options.

So I know the area I want to get married, I am still working on the feel and mood of the day. I would love to be near a lake, to have a fireplace, and possibly rooms on location for older guests and friends and family with young children. I’d also like the idea of a barn, somewhere which can still be picturesque even in cold November. If you know of a  place like this in the Cotswolds drop me a link!

I want it to be fun, and colourful without having a tight schedule, I want to be able to relax and enjoy the day and the food. Especially the food. Flowers everywhere, pretty string lights, and people enjoying themselves. Good cake too.

Here’s a few pictures that might get what I want across…maybe..

Maybe I should hire a planner??

hmm..Also I want a band, know any, let me know!

ta for now

Wedding Wednesday’s: Mary-Anne James. Our wedding Photographer /19

Ok so a quick note of apology before I start talking about the wonders that is Mary-Anne. We have officially moved, though I am surrounded by boxes and the never ending task that is unpacking, hopefully the blog won’t suffer for much longer.

But now back to Mary-Anne. So I went to uni with her, so I already knew her ability to photograph and the added bonus of her being the sweetest girl ever, but when I saw her portfolio me and Richard both decided she is the one to photograph our wedding. It’s quite a big deal finding your perfect photographer. I have seen so many wedding photographs ruined by photographer’s who don’t really know what they are doing. Or the cheese of having to pose time and time again. I am not a poser, there’s a reason why there are hardly any pictures of me on this blog, and my Wallace cheese smile is the reason. But when I saw Mary-Anne’s portfolio, the natural response of her images and the soft aesthetic automatically put me at ease, and gave me the hope that maybe just maybe..she could get a picture of me not looking like half of Wallace and Gromit.  Anyway I’ll let the pictures do the talking, and remember to check out her portfolio here.

Look at how happy the couple look in this picture, it’s a great one of family and friends too. Mary-Anne has a real soft natural lighting to her images, giving them an almost vintage feel. This is of the lovely couple Paul & Annabelle, see the rest of their special day here on Mary-Anne’s site.

This is a perfect group shot in my eyes, the couple look blissfully happy, and the guest look like they are having a great time, add a tandem to the mix and you kind of have the perfect group shot.. This is of the lovely couple Sophie & Mike, see the rest of the images here.

Just look at the lighting and the setting of this, doesn’t it just look beautiful, especially with her dress flowing out like that over the tree stump.

Another shot from Annabelle and Paul, I love the smile on the brides face, she really looks natural and Mary-Anne has caught the moment perfectly.

This has to be one of my favourite images from her portfolio, the light, the stance the couple. It’s just a dream shot really. I have never met this couple, but Mary-Anne has managed to capture them beautifully, their personality comes through in her images. This is of the lovely couple Leya & Oliver. See the rest of their special day here.

Another image from Mike & Sophie’s wedding, read their review on Mary-Anne here, if not just looking at her images instantly makes you want to book her for your wedding, the reviews will without a doubt. But don’t leave it too long, there’s a reason why Mary-Anne being our photographer is the only thing I have booked so far. I can see her being fully booked for years to come. Just read the reviews and take a look at the rest of her portfolio.

So there are just a few of her images, like I said go check out the rest of her portfolio.  As well as wedding day coverage her other services also include engagement shoots and pre-wedding and she is available in and outside of the Uk.  Plus she can do beautiful handmade wedding albums, and you can get a dvd with the edited images on at a high resolution. Allowing you to print off as many as you like for family and friends. What more could you want…another assistant photographer?..for large weddings she does that too. Just go check her out guys!

So happy Wednesday all…im of to un-pack…again..

I am not going to lie, bar the fact I am on slimming world, one of the things me and Richard are looking forward to the most, is cake tasting…mmmm cake. And with the Great British Bake Off on at the moment, every Wednesday has me craving cake! Not good for my waist line…

Anyway, the new trend this year has been naked cakes, they look amazing, but I was thinking wouldn’t it dry out? Don’t you put icing on to keep the cake moist? If you have had one, or tired some let me know how it is! Because they do look beautiful.

See how pretty does this look? This is from Alison Lawson Cakes.  I love the floral top… This next one is to die for.

Just look at that piping work!! I think i’m a sucker for floral tops…you know me guys..I like flowers…haha This is from Magnolia Rouge.

Continuing on with the naked cake theme, this is the last one, I am a sucker for icing…but with this next one..I am in love with the colouring..

Naked and an ombre cake. This cake hits all the stops, with the mint and blueberry top. regarding flavour, I’m not big on fruit cake, but I like the idea of having fresh fruit like this on top.  Source.

Just look at that icing…ombre too!…I am so excited about cake…is that bad…maybe I’m just food obsessed…not going to lie, I think thats the only thing we know for sure is what food we want…that is bad isn’t it..anyway this cake is from Mod Wedding.

Can’t go wrong with sprinkles can you, could be nice instead of having the whole cake covered in sprinkles, is to have a tier for the kids? And maybe an extra tier for me too…This is from Brides.

Last but not least, we have a gold dipped cake, this looks truly awesome!! And don’t worry next week i’ll do some alternative wedding cakes…i’ve been to a wedding where they had a cheese tier…ooo the possibilities. This is from the Ruffled Blog. I do like this….quite a bit…

If you know of any good cake places to go check out, do leave us a comment or send us an email!

It’s crazy to think I have been doing Wedding Wednesday’s for 2 months now. Are you guys enjoying it? Is there anything specific you want me to touch on? Send me an email or leave a comment.

I am really enjoying it, and looking forward to visiting some venues in the next month or so. It’s a little difficult as we are across the country from where we will be getting married so for a 3 hour + drive, ideally we are going to do like a mini road-trip of venues. Something I am so excited about. I feel like once we have a venue booked it makes it very real…you know?

Anyway the topic I have been looking into to today is stationary. I am a sucker for stationary, like I’d quite happily have a notebook for every hour of the day…Anyway stationary is such a fun topic you and your other half can talk about. It’s not just journals, although primarily that’s what I am looking at today. But save the dates, invitations, thank you cards, table charts and such!! Oh the stationary.  I brought a lovely binded journal from Italy which I have been making notes in, but there are so many cute journals out there.

This journal which you can get from Not On The Highstreet which is by Sloane Stationary is classic and clean. But costing £45 you may not be able to afford one for every hour of the day…

This wedding notes book from Kikki.K is awesome, and the rest of the stationary available is insane!! And they ship internationally! WOO.

This looks amazing, and from Etsy and at only £7.50, this pocket planner is perfect for little notes you might take along the way!

Another amazing Etsy find, which sadly doesn’t ship internationally yet (just the states) is from Haute Papier . A 3-monthly subscription service where you get paper goodies. Its looks amazing, and I await/hope of the day they ship to the UK. Great as a possible inspiration for wedding stationary.

Possibly a nice gesture for the best man? I think this is awesome, but I think Richards plan involves more beer and maybe a few emails. This is from Not On The Highstreet and is by The Green Gables.

From Not On The Highstreet too and also by Green Gables. This is a cute idea for maybe the maid of honour? Great idea for when your going to all the wedding vendors together.

I might be seeing a possibly DIY journal post coming on soon…ooo the excitement!
